It has a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with a power output of 53kW and 93Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and with the Aygo being quite light and small, it helps by giving it a little more pace.
To get the Aygo going, you will need to drive it with a little bit more vigour, revving the small 3-cylinder engine higher, which can become quite noisy for some. The Aygo may not be fast off the line, but once it gets going, it bodes well with highway speeds. Just keep in mind that passengers and luggage will make the Aygo sluggish as it is a light car with a small engine. The handling on the Aygo X-Play is its best attribute. The steering on the Aygo responds well, making it easy and fun to whip it around corners with much confidence. There is a bit of body roll on the Aygo, but overall it keeps a good composure on the roads.
