A variety of Golfs to choose from1
In South Africa, there are many Golfs to choose from, with each one having its unique motoring features. But unsurprisingly, the driving experience of an entry-level TSI model is no match for that of the Golf GTI TCR. For instance, the additional power delivery of a TCR at 213 kW and 380 Nm torque compared to the GTI’s 169 kW and 350 Nm, respectively, makes it a no-brainer. Both cars have the same engine, but the TCR’s has been modified considerably. But it’s not the engine performance alone that counts but the TCR’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system that stabilizes the car. USING LAUNCH CONTROL, the TCR does the 0-100 km/hr in 5.6 seconds, while the untested top speed is 264 km/hr.
