Junior Compliance Professional

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting and strengthening the business by identifying, assessing and reducing compliance, legal, operational and governance risks. The role extends beyond traditional compliance monitoring and reporting and requires active partnership with business leaders and operational teams to design, implement and embed practical solutions that improve controls, address root causes and reduce risk exposure.

You will work across departments to influence positive business outcomes, facilitate corrective action implementation, improve operational processes and ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into day-to-day business activities. Success in this role is measured not only by the identification of risks, but by the effectiveness and sustainability of the actions taken to reduce those risks.

Partner with operational leaders and business teams to develop practical corrective actions, facilitate implementation, monitor completion and measure effectiveness to ensure sustainable risk reduction.
  • Business Partnership & Risk Integration: Act as a trusted advisor to operational departments by integrating compliance, governance and risk management into business decision-making. Facilitate collaboration, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
  • Governance, Policy & Contract Management: Draft and review policies, procedures, contracts, marketing materials and business initiatives to ensure legal compliance while supporting commercial objectives. Provide practical recommendations that balance regulatory requirements with business needs.

  • Genuine interest in compliance and the regulatory field, with the ability to articulate why this area excites you.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive action without direct authority.
  • Comfortable challenging existing practices and facilitating constructive discussions to improve business outcomes.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical operational solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments and build collaborative relationships.
  • Outcome-focused mindset with a commitment to reducing risk rather than simply identifying issues.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Completed degree in [BCom/LLB] or a related field (LLB is advantageous).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
