The Suzuki Swift is as popular as ever and for good reason. Let’s delve into what makes the new Suzuki Swift fantastic and why comprehensive car insurance would be beneficial for this car in South Africa.
Landing on South African shores in 2008, the Swift has undergone three generations that ended in 2011. The fourth-generation was born in 2018 as a more spacious car, 40 mm wider than its predecessor and having the wheelbase increased by 20 mm.
The side body shape, strong shoulder lines and the Floating Roof design all combine to make the Suzuki Swift a great car to drive. An audio system includes Bluetooth and a USB port.
Lighter steel is used for the new HEARTECT frame, which provides excellent NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) performance and safety. The car is 100 kg lighter, making the new GL version of the Swift, including the optional alloy wheels, weighing only 872 kg. The only challenge with this lightweight is strong crosswinds. Equipped with ABS, in conjunction with EBD and BA, the three model-range can make an emergency stop in 3.1 seconds. Two dual airbags are in the front, and ISOFIX anchor points are in the rear to accommodate baby seats.
The cloth seating material and lower seats provide a lot of comfort. Unfortunately, the steering column and the height of the driver’s seat are not adjustable. Boot space amounts to 72 litres.
The Swift has a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre Dualjet (K12M) engine, with a power output of 61 kW and 113 Nm of torque, that is connected to a smooth, operational manual gearbox. The GL model also comes as an automated manual transmission. Its fuel consumption is a mere 5.1 litres/100 km.
