South Africa has a unique history and is a country of great diversity. This September, we welcome Heritage Month with the warmth and greenery of spring in September. Heritage Day, which is celebrated on September 24th, is especially meaningful to South Africans because it helps unify us by promoting the coming together of all citizens to celebrate their culture as one.1
An organisation’s culture influences and affects the way people interact, how information is created and shared – and how people face challenges at work.
South Africa is known as the rainbow nation, each of us come with our own cultures and values. Yet, we are bound by a common history and purpose of building a great country.
Prime Meridian Direct (PMD) whole-heartedly celebrates Heritage Day each year. For us, it means celebrating all the great people who work towards our common purpose. Each person adds to the diversity, and the richness that comes from celebrating diversity is valuable. We value our employees and clients as individuals, and we are passionate about serving all South African’s car insurance needs.
Our country is a melting pot of many cultures. South Africans celebrate their heritage daily and especially on Heritage Day. It is essential to honour and value our heritage, which we proudly do for our clients and employees at PMD.
As part of our respect for our customers, we, at PMD value not only our clients’ as individuals with different cultures but also what they may have to say. So, we appreciate our clients’ feedback through phone calls, Hello Peter reviews, Google Reviews and any other convenient way. We encourage all our customers to leave reviews on whichever platform suits them best, such as a call, email, Hello Peter review or Google review. We will attend to your feedback as quickly as possible regardless of how you get in touch. Nevertheless, contacting PMD directly via a call, email, or using our website or our app, is the quickest way to assistance.

We cherish our clients and come to work each day to readily assist them. Prime Meridian Direct’s customers can rest assured that we are there for them every day. In celebration of Heritage Month, several PMD employees decided to share their thoughts about their culture by answering a few questions:
A PMD New Business Professional shared, “The most special thing about SA’s diverse cultures is that it allows every individual to continually learn about everyone around them. It allows us to live as one within our differences. Exposure to different cultures also allows us to be understanding about everyone’s differences. It brings Ubuntu amongst us which means 'I am, because you are’.”
Our Marketing Assistant said, "I find that because we are so diverse in culture, each person has an opportunity to learn and know more about another's culture. This gives us a better understanding and newfound respect for one another after the painful history that this country had to endure.”
PMD’s New Business Manager mentioned, “What I find most special about South Africa’s diverse culture is the fact that you can consistently learn something new from the people around you. With so many diverse cultures around us every day, we are gifted to be able to learn and build a connection with people from different walks of life.”
“It is important to celebrate my heritage because it allows me and my community to remember where we came from. To celebrate my roots and to pass on the tradition and rituals to the upcoming generation. Culture and tradition are a sense of identity and celebrating my heritage reminds me of who I am,” said one of to our New Business Professionals.
PMD's Marketing Assistant answered, "It’s important to celebrate your heritage because it helps people connect with one another while simultaneously building their community. Knowing that we all come from similar roots and backgrounds gives us a sense of identity and familiarity about who we really are."
Our New Business Manager said, “Celebrating our heritage keeps our communities together, passes on values, traditions, and meanings through the different generation.”
What stands out most for some when it comes to their personal cultures? It could be many things.
Let’s find out more:
Our New Business Professional passionately shared, “I love my traditional attire. I am a Motswana and we wear Shweshwe on special occasions such as weddings and traditional ceremonies. The food is also very scrumptious!”
PMD’s Marketing Assistant revealed, “I love the different foods and family traditions that come with my culture. Whether it is a special occasion or just your average Sunday lunch, our culture oozes everywhere; in the food, music and even accents.”
