However, sometimes it is challenging to engage reverse gear. Although the ride is softer on the open road than a Toyota Fortuner, body roll is noticeable when negotiating corners.
The claimed consumption is 7.4 L/100 km, but the test drivers obtained 8.1 L/100 km. However, this is still an outstanding achievement seeing the SUV is a large vehicle.
Although the SUV is smaller than its rivals, such as the Ford Everest and Toyota Fortuner, it is still sufficiently spacious for 7 occupants. Although there is no luggage space if all 7 seats are occupied, folding the 3rd row flat is adequately remedied. So, the XUV500 is a 5-seater SUV with 7-seat capability on occasion.
